Coming Apart at the Seams by Regina Coeli deWinter
Coming Apart at the Seams by Regina Coeli deWinter
I really love this beautiful artwork of a wagon wheel by Regina Coeli deWinter. It is soft with a nice sepia tone. The wheel close up lets us see the wood grain and the joints while the lighting make the piece more magical.

Leaves by Jean Hutchins at Imagekind
Leaves by Jean Hutchins
Today's featured artwork is Leaves by Jean Hutchins. This photo is almost abstract in nature. Here we see light passing through brown, reddish, and green leaves. The effect is impressive and I think it would make a beautiful medium print on any nature lovers wall or for someone who likes to decorate with neutral colors and minimalism.

Himalayan Blue Poppy by Byron Varvarigos at Imagekind
Himalayan Blue Poppy by Byron Varvarigos
Today's featured artwork is Himalayan Blue Poppy by Byron Varvarigos.
The amazing transparency caused by light shining through the upper petals contrasting with the lower right petals of this close up flower photo really impressed me. I had never heard of a himalayan blue poppy before, but this one is great.

Spirit in the Mist by Steve Mitchell at Imagekind
Spirit in the Mist by Steve Mitchell
Today's featured artwork is Spirit in the Mist by Steve Mitchell at Imagekind. In this painting we have a close up humming bird. It is very soft with blue, yellow, and peach tones surrounded by a sea of blue. The hummingbird has its wings spread in flight and it is glorious with soft lost edges.

Daffodils by Iris Greenwell at Imagekind
Daffodils by Iris Greenwell
Today's featured art is Daffodils by Iris Greenwell. These white and yellow daffodils seem very carefree and they speak to be of the wild energy of spring in colder climates as they take over a garden or naturalized lawn. The image gives me a sense of nostalgia of my missed youth.

French Mallow Featured Photo by Melissa Hamilton at Imagekind
French Mallow by Melissa Hamilton
Melissa Hamilton is new to Imagekind, but She's been selling on Zazzle for quite a while. I believe I have one of her stores featured on the "Gifts" page sidebar.
I've been enjoying her photography at IK, and this one really called out to me. I love flowers and floral photography so I was excited to see that M. Hamilton had flowers too! I hope you enjoy these simple purple flowers and green leaves.

Floral Splendor Rhododendron by Jennie Marie Schell at Imagekind
Floral Splendor Rhododendron by Jennie Marie Schell
Today's featured artwork, Floral Splendor Rhododendron, by Jennie Marie Schell is a lovely close up of a cluster of rhododendron flowers. This macro has great shades of pink, mauve, cream, and white. The photo is very powerful in intensity even though the colors and petals are delicate. I think this would make a great greeting card.

Summer Breeze Martini Featured Artwork by Michael Creese
Summer Breeze Martini by Michael Creese
Today's featured artwork is Summer Breeze Martini by Michael Creese. This oil painting really speaks to me because of its bold and relaxing color combination. Only the red of the cherry is a warm color while the blue, green, and purple are cool. The martini glass is clearly defined while yet the background has messy strokes bringing the glass more into focus.

Southern Bell Featured Artwork by TheMears at Imagekind
Southern Bell by The Mears
Today's featured artwork is "Southern Bell" by The Mears at Imagekind. I don't recognize the flower, but I find the flowers including the one in focus to be stunning. The combination of creamy white and purple is very elegant and goes very well with the green leaves. The background is sufficiently blurred that the plant pops out at you giving the image more of a 3-D effect. Finally the dark purple lines in the main flower really draw the eye to a focal point so there isn't a problem with the detail in the rest of the plant.

Spring featured Artwork by Scott Ferman at Imagekind
Today's featured artwork is Spring by Scott Ferman
Scott specializes in fractal flame artwork which is created mathematically using a computer. I really enjoy this work because of the colors of nature present and the changes in lighting level in the work. It has a feeling of Mother Nature in stained glass. The dark green above makes me think of a leaf canopy whereas the bright blue makes me think of a window to the sky. Click on the image or buy button to learn more and see more of his great work.

Learn to paint like you always wanted to with this complete course
I don't know about you, but I always wanted learn to paint, but due to time or financial constraints, I never got around to it until just recently.
I wasn't very sure even that I could learn to paint. I thought that perhaps I didn't have enough talent, or coordination to do so, but once I started to go through the lessons in the Learn and Master Painting course taught by Gayle Levée, I realized that I could and therefore almost anyone else could too!
I have always loved art, but never really focused on it until I got my first digital camera. I since then have gone into creating art with photo manipulation, but painting always frightened me a little.
I'm not frightened anymore because Gayle is a great instructor. She's always calm and relaxed in the DVD videos in the painting course. She took me step by step from the very beginning. She answered those questions I was embarrassed to ask my art friends like how to clean paint brushes, store paint, how to draw brush strokes, and how to prepare a canvas.
Right now, I'm ready for lesson 6 where you paint two apples as a still life painting following the method used by the "Old Masters" of painting.
The course comes with an amazing binder with all the DVDs in plastic sleeves and the lesson book in a pocket so your investment in the course will stay in good condition. You get started by playing the first DVD video where Gayle introduces the course.
